Original antique Russian postcard illustrated by Elisabeth Boehm (Елизавета Бём / Elizaveta Bem), one of the best-known artists of Russian illustrated postcards of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The card features a charming child raising a glass, accompanied by the old Russian phrase “Будь здорова, моя черноброва!” (“Be healthy, my dark-browed one!”).

Published by Lapina in Paris, a publisher well known for high-quality color postcards after works by Russian artists.

This example was postally used in 1913 and bears an original handwritten Angel Day greeting. It was addressed to Elena Ivanovna Lyubetskaya in Mankivka, near Uman, present-day Ukraine. Elena Lyubetskaya was the daughter of priest Ioann Lyubetsky.

The postcard retains its original 3 kopeck Imperial Russian postage stamp, postal cancellations, handwritten message and address.
