Offered here is a 12-card partial antique Tarot de Marseille deck, likely dating to the late 18th or early 19th century.The surviving group includes several desirable illustrated cards, including XXI Le Monde / The World, IIII L’Empereur / The Emperor, Valet de Baston, and Cavalier des Épées, along with numbered suit cards from the traditional Marseille suits of Cups, Coins, Swords, and Batons.The cards feature traditional woodcut-style linework with stencil-applied color, uneven period printing, hand-produced registration, and matching blue geometric patterned backs. The imagery and construction are consistent with historic French Tarot de Marseille production.The maker has not been positively identified, and no specific attribution is guaranteed. The back design is closely related to other known historic Marseille tarot packs, but the cards are being offered conservatively as an unidentified antique Tarot de Marseille fragment.Condition is consistent with significant age, including toning, surface wear, edge wear, minor staining, fading, and handling.
