Everything You Need To Know About Sir Paul McCartney
Sir Paul McCartney was born to be a music legend. Born in Liverpool, England, Paul was raised in a working-class family. His father was a jazz pianist on the side of his sales job, which is where Paul initially became interested in musical instruments. He had a knack for learning songs and instruments by ear, which is a talent he continued throughout his career. Paul’s mother died when he was a teenager, and her legacy became an inspiration for many of the songs he would later write, such as “Let it Be.”
Paul is best known for his work with the Beatles. He originally formed the band with close friend, John Lennon. Together with George Harrison and Ringo, they took the music world by storm during the 1960s. Dubbed as “Beatle mania,” their influence in the United States carried them to commercial success throughout the entire decade.
By the 1970s, the Beatles officially broke up. Still, this did not stop Paul from carrying on with his music dreams. He formed another band, Wings, which was also a commercial success. His solo career has carried him throughout the decades since, and his latest album came out in 2012. He is no stranger to touring, and only took a break from performing live after the assassination of John Lennon in 1980. To date, Sir Paul McCartney continues to be one of the most popular music artists in the world.
