WWII German M31 Feldflasche Canteen HWSD 40 RFI 39 Early War Wehrmacht:
$117.00

Original World War II German M31 Feldflasche canteen with early-war mixed-date components.The aluminum canteen body is clearly marked:HWSD 40
— indicating 1940 manufacture.The aluminum cap/cup is marked:RFI 39
— indicating 1939 manufacture.This is a very plausible period-assembled early-war set. German field gear was frequently issued, repaired, and reassembled with components from different manufacturers and nearby production years, so a 1939 cap/cup paired with a 1940 bottle is entirely consistent with wartime use.The set retains:* Original aluminum M31 canteen body
* Brown wool/felt cover
* Original leather harness and retaining straps
* Original metal hardware
* Aluminum cap/cup with cork gasket
* Period maker/date markingsThe felt cover remains present and displays well. The leather harness is original and shows age-related drying, cracking, stiffness, and surface wear in several areas, particularly at the straps and attachment points. The leather is still largely complete but should be handled carefully.The aluminum bottle and cup show normal wartime use, scratches, oxidation, and surface wear. The cork gasket remains present inside the cap.A nice original early-war German field canteen with desirable 1939 and 1940 dated components and clearly visible maker markings.Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition, markings, and leather wear.See my other listings.
