WWII Army Air Corps Air Force Pilot Made By Levi’s Strauss Rare Wartime Tailor:
$85.00
Original WWII-era U.S. Army officer’s service coat attributed by handwritten interior identification to Carl Gieskie. The coat retains a very nice Army Air Forces shoulder sleeve insignia, officer “U.S.” and Air Corps collar insignia, and original gilt eagle buttons.
The interior identification is handwritten “Carl Gieskie” and appears period applied. Research has located a Carl Gieskie of military age during WWII, although I have not been able to conclusively document his wartime unit or service history, so the attribution is offered exactly as found rather than overstated.
The coat itself presents extremely well, with classic WWII officer tailoring and a particularly attractive AAF configuration. Sleeve braid is present, and the insignia displays nicely. The USAAF patch appears period and is consistent with the coat, though I cannot guarantee that every piece of insignia has remained untouched since the war.
A very appealing named WWII Army Air Forces officer coat with good potential for further research.
Please review all photographs carefully for condition, insignia, construction and details. Measurements can be provided/listed separately.
