Details: This is an original Imperial Japanese Army Type 98 summer tunic manufactured in 1941, Showa 16. The collar retains its Sergeant Major rank insignia, consisting of red Type 98 collar tabs with three silver stars and rank tape. The interior retains period military inspection and issue markings. This lightweight cotton summer tunic was designed for wear in hot-weather conditions and features ventilation openings around the underarm area. More than 80 years have passed since the war, and the tunic shows age-related deterioration including stains, fraying, dirt, insect damage, small holes, and general wear. With its original Sergeant Major collar insignia, 1941 markings, and surviving military stamps, this is a rare and valuable historical artifact representing Imperial Japanese Army summer field clothing during WW2.
