Offered is a very interesting vintage set of five Russian political leader nesting dolls featuring a unique lineup of 20th- and 21st-century Russian/Soviet leaders.

The dolls are arranged from largest to smallest as follows:

• Joseph Stalin – largest
• Vladimir Lenin
• Mikhail Gorbachev
• Boris Yeltsin
• Vladimir Putin – smallest

The large Stalin doll measures approximately 7 inches tall. The dolls are hand-painted wooden matryoshka/nesting dolls with individual portraits of the leaders and a glossy finish.

What makes this particular set especially interesting is the unusual arrangement with Stalin as the largest exterior doll and Putin as the smallest. Many Russian political nesting doll sets are arranged with the more recent/current leader as the largest figure, making this configuration less commonly encountered.

The dolls nest together properly and the set is complete with all five pieces present.

There is no writing, maker's mark or identifying information visible on the bottoms of the dolls.
