Vintage Pair Colony Glass Candleholders Blue Dogwood Flower Double Taper 7.25" 1948Vintage Pair of Lancaster Colony Glass blue dogwood double candle holders featuring Matte Blue molded floral blossoms on a frosted base with clear glass bases. 1948.Blue Dogwood Flower double taper candle holder made by the Colony Crystal Company (later part of Lancaster Colony Glass). While this specific mold was produced into the 1950s and 1960s in clear, frosted, and cranberry pink variations, this distinctive blue-washed version with gold accents on the rims and flower centers dates back specifically to the initial 1948 production run.Manufactured at the company's glassworks in Ohio (primarily Lancaster or Newark, Ohio), where the Lancaster Colony Glass Company operated its pressed glass factories during this era.Sometimes described as being Crystal Glass, Blue Dogwood double candleholders are actually made of heavy pressed soda-lime glass.The confusion probably comes from the name of the company, Colony Crystal Company.Excellent Condition. No chips or cracks. No loss of color finish. May be minor remnants of candle wax.Approx 7.25" x 5" x 2" tall x 1 lb 14 oz each.Smoke free home.Item has been described as accurately as humanly possible.
