Title: Beautiful Vintage Sorrento Italian Inlaid Burlwood Musical Jewelry Box - Plays "Lara's Theme" (11" x 7" x 5")Up for your consideration is an exceptional, impressively large example of traditional European craftsmanship: an authentic vintage Italian Marquetry Music & Jewelry Box, meticulously handcrafted in the historic Sorrentine Peninsula of Italy. At a grand 11x7x5 inches, this statement piece is significantly larger and rarer than typical desktop trinket models. This collector's piece features a breathtakingly detailed, hand-cut wood inlay (marquetry) scene on the lid. Multiple contrasting natural wood veneers are expertly pieced together to depict a classical musical instrument motif, highlighting a violin, mandolin, French horn, and flowing sheet music draped in delicate floral blooms. The artwork is set against a deeply figured, high-gloss lacquered burlwood background framed by crisp, multi-tiered continuous stringing borders.THE INTERIOR & MECHANICAL DETAILS:Upon lifting the lid, a premium mechanical Swiss wind-up musical movement activates, playing a beautiful, pitch-perfect rendering of "Lara's Theme" from the iconic Academy Award-winning film, Doctor Zhivago.
- Interior Storage: The interior features a divided dual-compartment layout. The left side functions as a generous open storage area for rings, watches, or keepsakes, while the right section securely encloses the brass mechanical musical gears beneath a protective view.
- Premium Lining: Fully lined in its original, ultra-plush chocolate brown velvet fabric which is exceptionally clean and soft to the touch.
- Hardware: Features a heavy-duty, continuous brass piano hinge running across the back for superior structural durability, resting elegantly on four small integrated feet.CONDITION REPORT:
