ULTRA-RARE FIND: Vintage 1940s Japanese Hanging Strawberry Salt & Pepper Shaker Set with Intense Cadmium UV Glow! Calling all serious glow glass, uranium glass, and mid-century novelty collectors! This is an incredibly scarce, highly sought-after 1940s hanging strawberry salt and pepper shaker set made in occupied-era Japan. Finding this set intact is difficult enough, but finding one in this stunning condition with a powerhouse glow is a true grail acquisition.UNMATCHED CADMIUM GLOW ; While some mid-century ruby red glass contains trace amounts of cadmium, the glass formulation in these particular strawberries is heavily saturated. Under a UV blacklight (especially a 365nm torch), they burst into a fiery, brilliant neon orange-red glow. The reaction is remarkably bright—far stronger and more vibrant than most standard cadmium glass items on the market today. It makes an absolute statement piece on a glow-glass shelf.EXCELLENT MUSEUM-QUALITY CONDITION : This set has been meticulously preserved and is in truly excellent vintage condition: The Glass: Both deep ruby red glass strawberry bodies are pristine. There are no chips, cracks, flea bites, or internal cloudiness. The glass threads are perfectly intact.The Caps: Both original metal leaf-and-vine screw caps are present and functional! They twist off smoothly with absolutely none of the heavy salt corrosion or frozen threads common to this 80-year-old design.The Stand: The heavy zinc-alloy vine stand is structurally perfect, straight, and features beautifully detailed casting.
