Gorgeous!Vintage handmade sea shell art mosaic, traditionally known as a Sailor's Valentine. These were often given as tokens of affection by sailors returning from long voyages in the 19th century, often crafted by local women in villages where the sailors were stationed. This beachy shell mosaic has a bamboo wood backing and loop for easy hanging.In very nice vintage condition. As this is handmade from natural sea shells, there are some minor imperfections; also one shell on rim is missing and one shell is broken but it still displays beautifully.
