Beautiful vintage New England Clock Company mechanical wall clock from Farmington, Connecticut, featuring a traditional Colonial Revival / Early American design.
The clock features a dark wood case with a graceful broken-scroll/swan-neck pediment, center finial, turned side columns and an attractive floral dial with black Roman numerals and ornate hands.
Inside is a German-made Urgos UW 7/53 mechanical movement manufactured for the New England Clock Company. This is a traditional two-weight, 8-day time-and-strike movement, designed to run approximately one week between raising the weights.
The clock uses three hammers for its tonal strike and strikes at the half-hour and hour.
This example has been cleaned and oiled and has been continuously tested for more than a week. During testing it has remained running and kept time, with the strike functioning correctly through repeated cycles.
The original interior also retains handwritten/penciled production or inspection markings, including “JV 0843” and the initials “ED” in two locations. These markings have been left untouched and are believed to be factory/assembly or inspection markings; their precise meaning has not been confirmed.

Shipping
The clock will be carefully prepared for shipment.
The pendulum and weights will be removed from the clock and individually protected for shipping to prevent damage to the movement and case. The clock itself will be securely cushioned inside the shipping carton.
Because mechanical clocks can require minor leveling, beat adjustment or regulation after transportation, the buyer should expect to properly level and set up the clock after delivery.
