VINTAGE 1976 GORHAM NORMAN ROCKWELL “TACKLED” FOOTBALL FIGURINEA wonderful vintage Norman Rockwell figurine depicting two young boys caught in the middle of a football tackle.Produced in 1976 by The Gift World of Gorham, this figurine is based on Norman Rockwell’s “Tackled,” the November 21, 1925 Saturday Evening Post cover. The original artwork is documented by the Saturday Evening Post and Norman Rockwell Museum. What makes this particular piece so charming is the story told through the boys’ expressions and poses. The younger boy appears absolutely thrilled that he managed to bring his brother down — his smile practically says:“YES! I GOT HIM!”And the older boy’s little hands are raised in surprise as if he’s thinking:“How did you get me?!”It’s that wonderful split-second of childhood competition that makes Norman Rockwell’s work so timeless.Item Details* Norman Rockwell “Tackled”* Gift World of Gorham* 1976* Vintage porcelain/ceramic figurine* Approximately 6½” tall* Football/boys subject* Inspired by the November 21, 1925 Saturday Evening Post cover* Base is marked with the Norman Rockwell/Gorham information* Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and detailsCONDITION / TRANSPARENCYPlease look closely at all photographs, including the close-ups and photographs of the base.
