Up for sale is a well-preserved piece of comedy magic history: George Blake's Silver Sceptre. This is an incredible, self-contained "rising rod" routine that is widely considered one of the absolute best interactive comedy routines for children's shows, parlor acts, and family entertainment.I have personally owned this prop for roughly 25 years. It has spent its life stored safely away and has never been used or stressed in an active show environment.Condition Details:The Scepter: Smooth, shineyThe internal elastic cord was recently replaced to address natural dry rot from age. It was a clean, easy fix, and it now functions flawlessly with perfect tension. Extra cording has been included inside just in case.The Sheath: Comes with the original maroon faux-leather/vinyl snap sheath. The vinyl is in very nice, pliable condition. Note that there are some light surface wear/rub marks on one side where it rested on its side over the decades (visible in photos), but it presents beautifully.Instructions: Includes the highly sought-after, complete original printed instruction sheet from George Blake detailing the full multi-phase routine.This is a wonderful find for a working performer who wants a reliable vintage prop, or a magic collector looking for an authentic piece with its original paperwork
