This vintage knife is one of the better China made Stubby patterns that hit the market in the 90's. The Original Explorer 11-322 "STUBBY" was a high quality knife made in Seki Japan. This was the most popular, largest selling pocket knife for Gutmann Cutlery in their entire history. And for good reason, it was a novel design for the time, lightweight and comfortable feel and the handy one hand opening and closing. Many other companies all wanted to get in on this new hot selling pattern. At that time the only place to get the knife manufactured at a more competitive price was China. NONE OF THE STUBBY COPIES WERE THE QUALITY OF THE ORIGINAL EXPLORER. The 2 best China made productions of the Stubby in my opinion was Fury Knives and Gutmann Cutlery themselves. Gutmann later offered both the Original Stubby 11-322 Japan made, and a much Cheaper 13-322 China made Stubby.
This Gutmann model 13-322 Stubby featuring a 2" stainless steel blade, 3" closed with brushed cast aluminum handle with thumb stud and brass screw. For convenient one hand opening and a blade liner lock.
This is an economical alternative to the ORIGINAL, and a great deal for Stubby lovers.
