This is a nice and clean 1979 Dunhill Root Briar 42011 apple shaped group 4 estate pipe with a saddle stem. The finish is in excellent shape for the age of this pipe, as the birds' eye and flame grains really do stand out on this beauty. The rim is clean but does have two very minor dark spots on it, but nothing major. The stem has been polished to a shiny black, eliminating chatter and oxidation. The nomenclature is present and legible. The date code was a challenge to read and was able to make out the underlined 19 for 1979 using 40x magnification and lighting. The airway, chamber and stem have been cleaned and ready for piping. This pipe will certainly perform well and look great in any pipe collection and rotation.
