The decorative handle features intricate scrollwork and lattice detailing, while the copper bell has a patterned border around the lower edge.This is a substantial, heavy bell for its 6½-inch size, with a solid, quality feel in the hand. The suspended interior clapper produces a wonderfully strong, deep and resonant ring—one of the nicest features of the piece.
The naturally aged surface shows variations in color, oxidation, spotting and patina that give the bell its distinctive vintage character. It has not been polished, allowing the attractive aged finish to remain intact.
