DescriptionBeautiful vintage Chinese porcelain tea set dating approximately to the 1960s. The pieces are richly decorated in the traditional Millefleur, or “Thousand Flowers,” pattern, featuring tightly arranged peonies, chrysanthemums, blossoms, fruit, and foliage in vibrant famille rose colors.
Colorful geometric key-fret borders and extensive gold accents frame the floral decoration. The undersides are marked with Chinese characters and “Made in China.”
Set Includes -13 pieces total- 1 teapot with lid
- 6 teacups
- 6 matching saucers
Millefleur translates from French as “a thousand flowers.” The design is known for its dense, continuous arrangement of colorful blossoms with little or no open background. Inspired by traditional Chinese famille rose porcelain decoration, the pattern became especially popular on decorative export wares during the 20th century.
Decor & Use SuggestionsA striking addition to a Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, maximalist, traditional, or Asian-inspired interior. Display the complete set in a china cabinet, on a tea cart, or as a colorful centerpiece. Due to its age, decorative use or careful occasional service is recommended.
Additional NotesVintage porcelain may show minor variations in painting, glaze, and gilding from piece to piece. These variations reflect the production and decorative process and contribute to the set’s character. The set will be carefully packaged and double-boxed for safer shipping.
