This authentic mid-century "Personality Pet" dachshund (affectionately named "Wee Maxie" by the manufacturer) was handcrafted by the famous Collegiate Manufacturing Company out of Ames, Iowa.Known for making firmly stuffed, heavy felt mascots for universities across the country during the 1950s and 60s, these toys have become highly collectible pieces of Americana and retro college decor.This specific dog features a solid black felt body, a charming cream-colored spotted snout, a yellow neck ribbon, and vibrant gold felt "ASU" lettering securely affixed to its floppy ear.Condition:Excellent vintage condition. The black felt remains dark and crisp, the yellow ribbon is intact, and the "ASU" lettering is clean and firmly attached. No major stains or fading.
