Up for sale is a beautiful vintage German souvenir wall plaque featuring the historic Veste Coburg Castle. This piece features a vibrant mid-century travel illustration sealed under a smooth protective laminate/plastic layer with a decorative textured silver-tone frame border.
The back features a wonderful piece of history with a handwritten inscription reading: "Coburg CASTLE, JAN. 4, 1947, Coburg Germany."
Given the January 1947 date, this piece was likely acquired as a memento by an American service member or traveler during the post-WWII Allied occupation of Germany. It comes complete with its original small red hanging loop at the top, ready for display.
Condition:
