This letter was signed by president-elect John F. Kennedy. It was written to a supporter, Miss Ruth C. Marlow, thanking her for her message after his election the previous month. The letter is written on stationery with a "United States Senate" letterhead from "Washington, D.C.", in an era before the use of zip codes.
The document has been in this frame for many years. It is yellowed/browned with age. There may be stains on the letter.
The included glass frame has punctures and tears of various lengths in the backing paper. The gold-color paint on the frame has worn spots, but the frame is structurally sound.
