Up for sale is this pair of Mid-Century Chinese BlackLacquered Wall Plaques. The Mother of Pearl inlay depicts classic nature scenes featuring birds perched on flowering branches. The plaques are crafted from wood finished with a dark, polished gloss lacquer layer. The artwork is formed using hand-cut or hand-cut pieces of iridescent mother-of-pearl shell (nacre) glued and set into the lacquer, accented with hand-painted or stenciled gold-tone line work along the borders and backgrounds.This set is a beautiful example ofEast Asian decorative export artin theChinoiseriestyle.My Seller Details:
