Rare Vintage 1976 Bicentennial Ashtray Kings Palace Restaurant Lisle IL Chicago:
$24.99

Up for sale is a rare, historically significant piece of local Illinois history and vintage tobacciana. This white ceramic souvenir ashtray features vibrant red and blue graphics commemorating the 1976 United States Bicentennial ("Happy Birthday America / U.S.A. '76"), customized for the historic King's Palace Restaurant formerly located in Lisle, Illinois.

Historical Background:

Owned by Sam Sutter, the King's Palace was a prominent, upscale local dining and live music hotspot. Tragically, on March 16, 1976, an early-morning electrical fire completely destroyed the landmark restaurant. Because the venue burned down early in the Bicentennial year, surviving '76 promotional merchandise from King's Palace is incredibly scarce.

Manufacturer Details:

The base features the authentic maker's mark for the highly collectible Ashtray Specialty Co. Ltd. of Chicago, Illinois (515 W. 43rd Street), complete with their famous trademark tagline, "Chaperone Your Cigarette."

Features & Condition:

• Beautiful gold-gilded accents along the notched rim

• Features a stylized graphic of a colonial town crier or patriot alongside the Liberty Bell silhouette

• Measures approximately 5.25" in diameter

• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Graphics are bright and sharp. No cracks, chips, or major crazing. White ceramic and gold trim remain clean with excellent gloss finish. (Please inspect the photos closely for exact physical condition details).

A perfect addition for collectors of local Chicago/DuPage County ephemera, 1976 Bicentennial memorabilia, or vintage commercial tobacciana!
