A superbly crafted 3. 25 lb. basalt metate, and 3.4 oz. granite mano: both artifacts are

pecked, ground, and super smoothed prehistoric Paleo-American, rock art hand tools. There are various  concave, and convex areas  incorporated into the design and placed around the entire sculpture adding comfort, and grip strength. Also, these implements have a knapping, hammer, pecking, grinding/smoothing, applicability based on its structure and hand position and wear/stress areas. The metate is a beautiful hand held portable multi tool with  several conspicuous images. The 3.4 oz. mano is made of granite. Both implements have been meticulously sculpted, and present a wonderful example of ancient ingenuity, design, and problem solving! Both mano and metate are exceptional examples of ancient craftsmanship; truly an awesome addition to a collector's assemblage. Found "as is" in Clackamas County, Oregon near the Columbia River Gorge.
