Margaret Furlongs third design in the three year madonna and child series celebrates the life of Christ and the blessings of motherhood. This glorious representation was inspired by Margaret’s trip to Europe and Russia, and influenced by her study of Russian icons and Renaissance paintings. All three designs in this series will be individually numbered dated and titled and impressed with the Furlong Potter’s seal. Skilled artisans fashion many separate pieces and then assemble them into the finished design while the porcelain is still wet and pliable. After drying the angel is theb fired until the clay matures into a translucent bisque porcelain. An acrylic easel is included for your round display.
