- McDonald's was started in 1940 in San Bernardino, California by Dick and Maurice McDonald.
- This glass features the image of the original logo used in the mid-50's. It shows the original "McDonald's" restaurant name in a circle with "Speedee," the company mascot at the time. Speedee was inspired by the McDonald brothers' "speedy service system" by which they could make great quality hamburgers in large numbers. Speedee was portrayed as a man in a chef's uniform and hat with a hamburger for a head. He was replaced by Ronald McDonald in 1963.
- Near the bottom on each side is embossed 1955, the year Ray Kroc joined the McDonald brothers as a franchise agent
- On the bottom of the glass is embossed the current golden arches logo used by McDonald's today.
- Excellent condition, no chips or cracks...glass is clear and sparkly, no cloudiness
