Hard to find, vintage 1920\'s Browning-Drake Model 7A battery operated 7 tube radio that is a must have for the collector of early radios.  I have not seen a photo of this particular model on Radio Museum or Radio Attic\'s web sites - only a picture of a brochure on Radio Museum.  Cosmetically, the unit is in very good condition, with the original finish simply cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax.  There are quite a few dents and nicks on the cover and a small veneer chip on the right door (see photos), but overall, the radio presents quite well for being nearly 100 years old.  The front panel is concealed by 2 paneled doors and the sides also have raised panels with contrasting wood veneers.   All knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well.  The radio operates on batteries and was working according to its former owner, but it is being sold \"As Is\".  All of the tubes are present, except the #40 tube, which is missing.  With that said, it should not take much to make it functional. It will need an external speaker to operate.  The radio measures 29\" long at the base, 14\" deep at the base, and 11\" tall and is quite heavy - 35 lbs .  According to the brochure on Radio Musuem, this particular model is two tone duco mahogany, with parquet raised panels.  The other version was made of walnut.  The radio retailed for $145.00 in 1927.  The original operating instruction card is tacked to the inside of the cover and the battery wires are present.  Don\'t miss out on this opportunity to add this rare radio to your collection.  In order to ensure safe delivery, the radio will be double boxed and the tubes will be removed and separately boxed.  Due to the size and weight, we will be amenable to delivering the unit for a nominal fee to cover gas expenses to anyone within a 150 radius from RI.
