Cooper Bessemer sign 9”x 6” SOLID BRASS Builders Plate Steam Engine Mid 1800s.
This is an original builders plate from a Cooper Bessemer Double Acting Twin Tandem. The company started as “The C and G Cooper Co” in 1833 and didn’t change that name until 1848 dating this solid brass plaque between 1833 and 1848 prior to merger and the company name change. In 1929 the company became Cooper Bessemer. See attached pic for company history.
