Offered for sale is a complete set of four Official Bicentennial Commemorative Plates produced by The Franklin Mint from 1973 through 1976, issued by the Bicentennial Council of the Thirteen Original States in the years leading up to and including America’s 1976 Bicentennial.
The complete series consists of:

* 1974 — John Adams
* 1975 — Caesar Rodney
* 1976 — John Hancock
All four plates are approximately 8 inches in diameter and are marked on the reverse as solid sterling silver, with 24-karat gold applied by electroplating/inlay.

A particularly interesting feature of this collection is that all four plates bear the exact same number: 8491.
