An original Confederate Army Quarterly Return of Quartermasters Stores issued at Montgomery, Alabama, Sept 13, 1862 w 11pp of army items listed, with issues of everything from cavalry buckets to hickory shirts. The 8 x 11" ptd/ink Return is signed by William Parks Prickett, a gunsmith who served in Captain Bowie's Company of the Alabama Cavalry 1861-63 when he was captured and a POW at Fort McHenry; after parole he was Ordnance Brigade gunsmith in Johnston's Army North Carolina until the War's end. The Ordnance Return is signed by Prickett as Asst QM. Age stains, edge wear, Overall VG. Comes w service info- Prickett is buried in Forrest Cemetery, Etowah County, Alabama.Historic Montgomery, Alabama was the first Capitol of the Confederacy and a strategic source of men, ordnance and supplies for the Confederacy during the War.
