Authentic Ancient Egyptian Or Phoenician Vase Incredible From Palm Beach Estate:
$3450.00

See the last photo for a vase sold by Christie’s in a very similar form although that example is not as fine/precise as the one I’m offering for sale. This exceptional hand carved alabaster vase is most likely Egyptian based on the precision but has a chance at being Phoenician according to a few colleagues who’ve also handled it. I acquired it from an extremely wealthy home where the owner had passed and h his children were liquidating the contents in order to sell the property which was in Palm Beach. The home was filled with extremely valuable items from around the world and this vase likely seemed unimportant to the estate company but I was able to speak with the daughter who said the Egyptian vase was one of his favorite small decorative objects. I don’t blame him. The precision is second to almost none considering the age. The walls are very thin and even with a range of 2.2-2.3 mm thick and the symmetry is quite impressive as well. Unfortunately the top is damaged but with how thin this vase is it’s a miracle that it’s still in one piece. There are also a few hairlines and bruises to the body of the vase which can best be seen in the backlighted photos. With that being said it is rare to find one of these vases made with such precision and it would be an important part of any collection. It measures almost exactly 6” tall by 3” wide with a near perfect form/taper. I suspect the precise nature of it would be more evident if the top was fully intact. Please view all the pictures carefully to best understand the condition and exactly what you’re purchasing.
