Fine antique andexceptional rare survivor of a royal gift from Queen Victoriafollowing the wedding of her daughterVictoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901),to Crown Prince Frederick William, later Emperor Frederick III ofGermany (1831-1888). Victoria, Princess Royal was married to Crown Prince Frederick William ofGermany on 25th January 1858 at the Chapel Royal in St James\'sPalace. The flowers from her wedding train was attached to a red velvet base with an original drawing of the Princess on herwedding day with a brassinscription:

\"Presented by the Queen with Flowers from the Train worn by HRH on the Day of her Marriage Jan 25 1858\" - all of which are intheir original gilt wooden oval frame.

On the reverseadditional information is given with a handwritten card:

\"Victoria, Princess Royal of England married Prince Frederick William of Prussia January 25th 1858 Sent after the marriage by Queen Victoria to Lady Victoria Noel when she was one of the Princess\'s Bridesmaids The Empress Frederick died August 5th 1901\"

LadyVictoria Buxton nee Noel (1839-1916), was aBritish philanthropist anddaughter of the 1st Earl of Gainsborough. She married Sir Thomas Buxton in 1862 and in 1895 accompanied him toAustralia in his position asGovernor.
