Antique Scottish Landscape Frame, Early 20th C, Narrow Wood Frame, 10½" × 18¼":

The painting was identified by a label on the back as “Scottish Highlands,” by G. McGregor, Scottish Artist, and the label describes it as an Early 20th Century Oil on Board, Custom Framed. A photograph of this original label is included in the listing.

At some point in the painting's history, someone placed the original frame inside a much more elaborate gold frame. That later frame was removed, revealing this understated original frame. The painting has since been placed in a different frame, making this original period frame available separately.

The frame has a warm, aged brown finish and a remarkably delicate approximately 5/16" wide face. Its simple, restrained profile is particularly well suited to a narrow-format landscape and does not overwhelm the artwork.

• Rabbet/opening: 9 13/16" W × 17½" H
• Frame face: approximately 5/16" wide

The frame has genuine age-related wear, including small nicks, scratches, losses, and surface wear consistent with its age and history. The original aged finish and patina have been left intact.
