Antique Native American Stone Hammer Club w/ Original Leather and Handle:

This stone hammer (or club) was purchased from the estate of a professor who had a keen interest in Native American history. I can't say it's age but from the looks of the leather it appears quite old. It was very well made and the stone is still tight in its wrappings. You can see the maker used tar to help secure the leather. I can't tell if the stone is grooved as the leather is very secure. The dark spots on the stone appear to be tar as well. I don't think this is a later tourist item. It is a well made utilitarian object.
