Antique Copper Stepped KETTLE (P.A.S.) w/Brass Accents, Tin Lining & Dovetailing (6 qt) ~ of item...Here we have a beautiful antique copper stepped WATER KETTLE (believed to be Scandinavian in manufacture)...stamped with P.A.S. on the handle top (photo #6) with a recessed or stepped bottom designed to drop into a circular opening on a Nordic cast iron wood burning stove. It has a riveted attached arched swing handle, curved gooseneck pouring spout with a hinged spout cover, matching lid and brass finial, tin lining (no tin loss), dovetailing on sides and bottom. This kettle was designed for an open hearth as well as stove top utility. NOTE: It is believed that P.A.S. is a Scandinavian stamp of an old copper manufacturing factory.It measures approx. 12-3/4" high x 13" long (from spout to handle) x 8-7/7" wide, can hold up to 6 quarts. It has been tested and does not leak.It is in fair to good maintained (used) condition, commensurate with its age, showing some minor scuff/rub marks and some dings or dents (quarter size or less) here and there, no tin loss but does show some aged calcium/lime build-up in certain areas...all of which are not offensive and to be expected with age and use. It is being offered in "as found" condition currently exhibiting a naturally aged copper/brass patina*** it has not been cleaned or polished since acquired. Also, lid has a minor 1/4" thin metal split on the one side edge (photo #12) along with a few nearby dings, lid has a tight fit.Came from a private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown, circa late 19th century early 20th century. This item weighs approx. 4-3/4 lbs., add 3-1/4 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
