Authentic Civil War Era Pennsylvania Fire Zouaves Headgear Badge
Up for sale is a rare and historically significant cast metal headgear badge, identified as belonging to the Pennsylvania Fire Zouaves. This piece features a distinct design with the initials "P.R.R." at the top, a large central "B", and "P.S.M." across the bottom.
This item was recently acquired from a large, private Civil War collection and represents a fascinating crossover of early American military and regional history.
Item Details:
Dimensions: Approx. 2+" tall (see photos with tape measure for exact scale)
Mounting: Original wire loops intact on the reverse for attachment to a kepi or hat.
Condition: Excellent "dug" or aged patina with visible verdigris, typical for a brass artifact of this age. The casting remains sharp and the lettering is clearly legible.
