Antique Bradley & Hubbard Brass Hanging Library Lamp – ElectrifiedBeautiful antique hanging library/parlor lamp manufactured by the renowned Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company of Meriden, Connecticut.
This impressive lamp features an ornate brass font with deeply embossed gadrooned decoration, suspended within a black-painted metal harp frame. It is fitted with a clear glass chimney and a large hammered conical metal shade, giving it a wonderful period appearance.
The lamp retains its original Bradley & Hubbard manufacturer’s medallion identifying the maker as The B. & H. / Bradley & Hubbard Mfg. Co., Meriden, Conn., U.S.A.
Originally designed as an oil/kerosene lamp, this example was later converted to electricity for modern use. The electrical cord exits through the shoulder of the brass font.
Bradley & Hubbard was a prominent American manufacturer of decorative lighting and metalware, and original marked examples remain desirable among collectors of antique lighting, Victorian furnishings and American decorative arts.
