A beautifully detailed Art Deco era wall crucifix, circa 1920s–1940s, with a rich gold-colored finish that still catches the light nearly a century later.

This is a piece to look at closely. Christ’s figure projects from the cross, giving the crucifix real depth and presence. His face, crown of thorns, draped cloth, hands and feet are all carefully rendered. Behind him, openwork flowers and curling foliage fill the cross without making it feel heavy. Raised IHS letters frame the figure, while an INRI plaque sits above his head.
