Title: Antique Elgin National Watch Co. Wood Advertising Sign – "My Elgin's All Right" – Manufactured by The Meyercord Co., Chicago (Circa 1900) with authentic original labeling. Approximately 22" x 15"WUp for sale is a highly collectible and beautifully preserved authentic piece of late-Victorian/early Edwardian Americana horology ephemera.This original retail counter and/or wall trade sign was produced by the historic Meyercord Company of Chicago for the Elgin National Watch Company to advertise their legendary pocket watches.Design & GraphicsThe front features the highly iconic "My Elgin's All Right" motif, depicting a classic Tom Sawyer-style barefoot boy dressed in tattered, torn overalls proudly displaying an oversized pocket watch. The graphics are rendered via a vibrant chromolithographic transfer process directly onto a heavy, thick oak wood panel board. The lower right-hand corner features the elegant, original gold script signature reading: “The Meyercord Co., Chicago”.Back & Authentication LabelsThe reverse side showcases the stunning natural oak wood grain structure and retains its original structural hanging wire. Most importantly, it features the original, authentic black-and-white paper manufacturer advisory label reading:"NOTICE: DO NOT HANG SIGN OVER RADIATOR, STEAM PIPES OR STOVES—TO CLEAN WASH WITH COLD OR LUKEWARM WATER.
