Scarce late-19th-century embossed aqua glass jar from J. M. Clark & Co., Louisville, Kentucky.

Large raised lettering wraps around the shoulder:

J. M. CLARK & CO. – LOUISVILLE, KY.

Collector references identify J. M. Clark & Co. examples as pickle jars dating to the 1880s.

Beautiful aqua/blue-green glass with numerous bubbles, waviness and other early manufacturing characteristics. Approximately 5½ inches tall based on the measurement shown in the photographs.

Displays very well and would make an excellent addition to a Kentucky, Louisville, antique bottle, food/pickle jar or early American glass collection.
