Adorable Antique 1930’s Doll Quilt Vintage Conversation Print With Whisker Guard:

This adorable 1930’s vintage doll quilt is machine sewn and hand tied. It is made from a fun conversation print showing scenes from an old fashion schoolhouse. The cotton fabric has the same print on both the front and back.

The top of the quilt has a faux blue “whisker guard.” Full sized quilts of that era had an extra piece of fabric that could be removed, washed, and reattached to the top of the quilt. This kept the quilt clean and protected it from the abrasive rubbing from a gentleman’s beard. It is rare to see one on a doll quilt. (This blue guard is not removable though it still a precious quilt.)

The quilt has a thin batting, measures 16” x 19” and is tied with blue yarn. The ties are approximately 2”apart. This has been machine sewn and has a knife edge.

The fabrics are strong and it is clean with no rips.

This vintage doll quilt was made in New England and would be a great addition to your collection, use with a doll, or display.
