RARE First Edition First Printing Norfolk Southern Color Pictorial 1950s-1970s By Dalton P "Billy" McDonald - NEW!
This is a brand NEW still in original shrink wrap 2015 First Edition First Printing issue of this wonderful book with lots of color photos about the "old" Norfolk Southern Railway. 132 pages. Approx 12" x 9".
I purchased all of the last remaining copies of this book from the Little Choo Choo Shop in Spencer, NC years ago. By then this book was already out of print and could no longer be ordered from the publisher (who was also the author). I gave away several copies shortly after purchase. I kept three new copies still in the shrink wrap that I am now offering individually for sale on .
These new books have been kept on a bookshelf out of any direct sunlight in my smoke free home.
Please see the pictures of one of the three still new in the original shrink wrap copies. I have also included some pictures of the first three pages in my used copy of this book that I am keeping (not selling) for my personal collection to show this is a 2015 First Edition First Printing and the table of contents.
The author of this book passed away in 2020. Dalton P "Billy" McDonald worked for the "old" Norfolk Southern Railway for over 30 years as a conductor and in other roles. He was very knowledgeable about the "old" NS and captured its history in the many pictures in this book during its final three decades in operation. The "old" NS was acquired and merged into the much larger Southern Railway on January 1, 1974.
This First Edition First Printing edition is not to be confused with a more recent small second printing run arranged as a fundraiser by the Norfolk Southern Historical Society. That second printing edition is now also sold out.
