Antique cast iron fence Victorian Architectural straight Rod picket 44 feetCast ironfencing salvaged years ago class="MsoNormal">7 sections- 2 feet tall ( 3 sections about 6 feet,1 section at 8 feet , 2sectionsat 8 feet , 1 at 3 feet) about 44feet in total length-#F-2 Straight rod style picket--This fence is made circa 1890's
The style fence-I think it is called the style" picket" and"hairpin" I may be wrong but my mother always told me the loop style fenceing was used for cemetery fencing- i assume in old days the old loop stye fence adorned front and side yards of victorian home- then as well it was so suited for the perimeter small border around a family grave plot-- my mother had a large family and gathered this fenceing so shed have enough to border a relatives grave-- but it was also used to beautify my back yard for a nice small garden enclosure!
Good condition for its age. Rust- see photos there are a few bends breaks .As you can see in the photos there is patina rusting but nothing out of character on such pieces.I have several other styles in my shop (the footage varies, so see which amount of footage and style you prefer- if any questions please email me).
Some styles are more ornate,but all are attractive architectural elements.
These came from old Alabama homes and date back to the early 1900s.

The original collector of this fencing began collecting antiques, and antique architectural from the many old homes that were torn down in Montgomery from the years 1935- 1970 and storing them in his warehouse with the intent of eventually building a home with them.
