Cool / tough / get it done
Works well, a good size Oerla makes a tough field knife. Sheath is nice. I use it alot around the yard: chop, hack, slice. Handle is good. It's a mean looking cleaver.

Nice Design—Cheap, Useless blade steel
I’ve had this knife now for several months—I love the design and the feel, and how it locks into the sheath so securely yet is so easily deployed. But, try as I might, this blade just won’t hold an edge. I have virtually all the decent, proven sharpening systems, but when you get this knife to the point where it even has a decent edge, a single paper slice and the edge starts to degrade. What a pity—put all this work into a nice, functional design but then use a cheap piece of iron for the blade. I’m reluctant to buy any other Oerla product unless they clearly identify the steel used and guarantee its quality. I’ve had this knife now for several months—I love the design and the feel, and how it locks into the sheath so securely yet is so easily deployed. But, try as I might, this blade just won’t hold an edge. Love this knife
Very pleased with this knife from oerla. It’s small enough for me to be part of my EDC gear. Knife locks into kydex sheath very well and can be removed quickly. Blade is sharp right outta the box. I only wish the blade was made from a more premium material.

Cool, but a little heavy. Very secure sheath.
I like this knifes profile, which is what attracted me to this Oerla knife, And the universal belt clip is cool, but even though the knife could function well in a workshop, for example or as a camp knife for the smaller chores. But, for "every day carry" as either a utility tool or self defense weapon the blade material, in my opinion, is too thick. I like the G10 and D2 steel components, but I find it too heavy, mostly handle heavy. The G10 scales, mostly on the butt end, is also too sharp and might be better rounded a little on the front and back end. But, this is not something that a knife enthusiast couldn't fix up themselves with a little emery paper (and a dust mask!). I am currently using it as a car knife in my Dodge Ram in the door compartment. Heavy or not it would make a big ... Similar to a Sog Swedge
This is a great knife design, built like the legandary Sog Swedge series which have become nearly impossible to find in any of the three Swedge variations. This knife has nice heft, well packaged, and seemingly as indestructable, at a third of the price. What more could you ask for if you dig this type of blade.
