The pen was made by Silvercraft who specialized in custom making silver filigree pens. In this case, they used an imperial pen. The barrel reads Senator John F. Kennedy. The pen is in excellent condition with no tarnishing or blemishes. The frame was custom designed. The background painting is replicated on a canvas material so it looks like an actual painting. There is an engraved plaque which reads "Official Senatorial presentation pen presented to friends and supporters by Senator John F. Kennedy made by Silvercraft Imperial pen sterling barrel"This is an authentic senatorial presentation pen. From then senator John F.
