Adam Ferrara, the stand-up comedian and actor who Entertainment Weekly dubbed “hilarious,” is a series regular on the Emmy-nominated FX drama Rescue Me, in which he plays Chief Needles Nelson. He also recently costarred alongside Kevin James in the hit movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Ferrara’s other feature film credits include Definitely Maybe with Ryan Reynolds and Isla Fisher, Winter of Frozen Dreams and National Lampoon’s Dirty Movie with Christopher Meloni.

A two-time nominee for best male stand-up by the American Comedy Awards, Ferrara has appeared on numerous TV shows, including The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Late Show With David Letterman, The View and Rachel Ray. He is known for his honest, clever, fearless perspective on family, relationships and himself. In June 2010, Ferrara and Rescue Me costars Denis Leary and Lenny Clark headlined the Second Annual Rescue Me Comedy Tour in advance of the show’s sixth season premiere.

Apart from opening for his comedy idol, the late George Carlin, and performing at both Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, Ferrara says his most exciting moment in stand-up was a benefit performance for President Obama and all the Democratic Senators. Stuck in traffic on the way to the event, Ferrara was heard to say, “I’ve waited this long for health care. Now they can wait for me!”
