Jay Kay an over glorified delinquent? You people are sick. He is the lead singer of one of the tightest bands on planet earth, he is soulfull, jazzistic, unique and he worked hard doing over 150 gigs and 7 albums. And by the way he has real talent, something you people don´t seem to praise these days listening to all this trash electronic gaga music spreading all over like f#ing cancer.
Calling him “cool” its relative, but just consider one fact: he started the Adidas Gazelle trend 20 years ago and those adidas listed jackets that now are everywhere. Maybe you “cool” people criticists have one of these. Thanks to who? Oh well, the uncool over glorified delinquent.

Among other facts like he is a fantastic dancer and a hat weirdo with extraordinary taste for cars, he owns more than 50 in his big flashy country estate. Now this is a lot of juice isn´t it Catalyst? If he isn´t cool who is it? You Catalyst maybe? Oh well I guess it sucks being a nobody.

He is a car nut, his collection of cars is fantastic but the best thing about him is that he isnt afraid to use them on the track where true supercars belong.

I love that he created his own cupholder in the Enzo by sticking the water next to the seat.

I admit the man is talented, and worth of distinction amongst his peers. Though I am not certain that displaying such obscene wealth when 80% of the world population are suffering in poverty. This is not to suggest he does not deserve wealth or the cars. It is the media who plays to these people and further promotes them to a place out of reality.

you say he is cool because he wears sportswear?. oh dear. i think we have differing standards of cool.
steve mcqueen, marlon brando (before he got fat), paul newman, al pacino, robert de niro. these people are not cool because they wore sneakers. its my point exactly. they are cool for what they are and what they did and how they carry themselves and not the car they happened to drive or the sneakers on their feet. mcqueen would be just as cool in a porsche as he would be waiting for a bus. pacino was cool as a bisexual bank robber and as the godfather. cool is a complete aura and style. jay kay is crass and not cool and he can’t cover it with a car or a hat or some clothes.

my friend at university went to the same school as jay kay in ealing, london. he said jay kay was into metal and skate bands all the way through school till 18, and used to hang around with skaters. so much for all that throwback funk soul stuff he churns out now. maybe its just another prop.
